ACTION POST - 

For creating a respectful and inclusive environment and increasing a sense of belonging – 

SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY in ACTION:

As a staff, following our Pro-D with Ellen Hsu, Silvia Miles and Marnie Flores we have created a Social Responsibility Committee to continue the work as we further align our school with intentional and consistent language.

• As a first activity, we chose an anchor text, 'Zen Shorts' by Jon Muth, with the expectation that each division explore the lessons from the stories and share their learning with respect to CARE and RESPECT for self, others and place. 
• Some students from each division shared their learning, expressing their authentic, vulnerable and courageous experiences at our Pink Shirt Day Assembly, on February 26th 2025

While other students are showing CARE and RESPECT for place, when planting seed potatoes in our shared courtyard, creating signage for our garden and cleaning up garbage around the school grounds. 

While others have started to create signage for our outdoor garden space to ground our WHY and express our learning and intentions.
