It was great seeing all of the families in last week for conferences. Conferences always provide a rich opportunity to discuss transitions to school, review expectations and plan learning goals throughout the year. We encourage you to continue to be engaged in your child's learning throughout the school year by asking questions, being curious and supportive at home. Please talk to your child's classroom teacher as they are excellent sources of information.
I will be sending home a Halloween reminder notice this week. Information can also be found in the news post titled "Halloween Plans" in this website. I encourage you to please familiarize yourself with the plans for the day as well as the costume guidelines sent out in October's newsletter. We really want to encourage to bring as many non-perishable food items as possible. This year the Richmond Food Bank has experienced an increase in the number of families using it's service and they are finding it hard to keep the shelves stocked. Support for this worthwhile cause is greatly appreciated.
Thank you to everyone who is following our Thompson parking lot procedures. The parking lot is running much smoother and student safety is becoming a priority for everyone who is using it. Just a quick reminder. Please do not drop off or pick up your child in the middle of the round about, only use the curb. We have had a couple of close calls because students are being dropped off or picked up wher cars are moving through the parking lot. Thank you for your help with this.
Finally, on Friday, our staff attended a variety of professional development opportunities. Professional Development is important to professional in education. It provides opprtunity for collaboration, networking, growth and innovation. Our staff participated in a variety of learning opportunities which they were all excited to be involved with.
Have a great week! Looking forward to seeing some of you at our Halloween events on Monday.
